Spring Cleaning Your
Pool in 3 Easy Steps

Refresh Your Pool For the Aussie Spring

Warmer days are here and the pool is calling. After a few cooler months, most Aussie pools need a quick reset so they are crystal clear for spring and the long summer ahead. Here is a simple plan, plus how the Beatbot AquaSense Pool Robots can do the heavy lifting.

Quick spring checklist

Confirm your equipment is working and circulating properly

Balance the water so chlorine and pH can actually do their job

Remove leaves and scrub away any algae before it spreads

Let a Beatbot handle floor, walls, waterline and surface skimming while you relax

1. Make sure your equipment is ready

Water level:
Aim for halfway up the skimmer opening.

Baskets and strainers:
Empty skimmer and pump baskets, clear any blockages.

Pump and filter:
check for leaks and worn O-rings, listen for unusual pump noise.

Filter clean:
hose off cartridges or backwash and rinse sand/DE filters to reset flow.

Pressure gauge:

Note your clean-filter baseline so you know when it is time to clean again.

Circulation time:

Run longer for the first few days of spring start-up, then dial back to your normal schedule.

2. Check the water chemistry

Balanced water keeps algae away and makes chlorine more effective.

Test with strips or a kit and adjust in this order:

  • pH: target 7.2 to 7.6
  • Chlorine: free chlorine typically 1 to 3 ppm
  • Total alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm
  • Calcium hardness: target 200 to 400 ppm
  • Stabiliser (CYA): often 30 to 50 ppm

If the pool looks dull or greenish, brush first, then shock the pool and circulate well. A clarifier can help bind fine particles so they can be filtered out.

3. Clear leaves and scrub algae

Skim and scoop:
Remove leaves, seed pods and insects so they do not break down in the water.

Brush:
Clean the walls, steps and the waterline where grime collects.

Deep clean made easy with Beatbot:
Put your Beatbot AquaSense pool robot to the test. These cordless robots are built for Aussie pools and can:

  • Scrub floor, walls and waterline to lift algae
  • Surface skim to capture leaves and bugs before they sink
  • Smart-route the pool for complete coverage
  • Collect fine debris in a large basket
  • Water clarification to remove the microscopic particles the water

Tip:

Run your Beatbot after a shock or clarifier treatment once chlorine has returned to normal swimming levels, so the robot traps the fine stuff your filter misses.

Your spring-to-summer game plan

Do a proper start-up this week

Run the Beatbot regularly to keep debris and biofilm under control

Quick weekly water tests and a filter clean when pressure rises

Enjoy your pool more and maintain it less

Get ahead now and make the next six months all about swims, not scrubbing.
